How to stop a horse..?

    You need to make sure you're keeping her attention while you're out as well. Many times when you head off into a new environment the horse is busy looking around at other things and not concentrating on what you're asking. If you think she's not concentrating (even at the walk) then you can gently flex the reins in order to keep her concentrating.

    You can tell if she is concentrating by watching her ears - locked forward usually means no and one flicked back means she is waiting for a command which is what should happen when you ask or begin to ask for something.
