    I cant believe it!!!

Ok- so heres a little info first- My boyfriends mom has three horses. The old arabian mare was riden quite a bit in her younger years, and now has laminitis so not much is done with her. They have a Egyptian arabian ( recently gelded) that was trained, but now is not fooled with because he was left as a stallion for 9 years. Then theres my baby fria. She was born in a snowstorm, and her mother died very soon after. She was bottlefed. She's BEAUTIFUL and has excellent bloodlines, but is only 14 hands beause of the way she had to be raised. She's a QH and was trained along with the gelding. Then, was left in the paddock for 6 years, and the owner lost interest. In MArch I was given the chance to use her as a 4H project, and work with her. OH MY GOODNESS!! She was a handfull at first, but now my best friend. Over the last 5 months I have taught her walk, trot, canter, and by voice, seat leg or rein aid, (together or one at a time). She listens to me, and only me. My boyfriend is always suprised when I lead her accross to the other paddock, no lead rope, and she will trot with me as soon as I ask for it. She was left at pasture for 8 years, but when I took her to the 4H fair a month ago, her first show, she exceded expectations, and I was so happy. Its amazing to see a little quarterhorse beat all the huge fancy arabians and thoroughbreds that had been raised to show and be the best of the best. It amazed me. I've been teaching her to jump since the middle of july, and my gosh she loves it!! She's going over 18 inches with about a foot to spare. She now jumps EVERYTHING, even ground rails!! She's absolutely amazing, and I couldnt of asked for a better friend. Now I'm leaving for college in a week, and am heartbroken. IM not sure how IM going to be able to leave my friend for a month after she's learned so much. I believe she deserves every bit of praise, because she sticks with me through the good and bad days. Sorry for the rant, but I am just so proud!!!

Any way you can find someone to lease her? That way all your hard work won't go to waste.

I know it's hard, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...in time you'll have her back; She sounds like a nice mare. Good luck in College.

    friends, good horse, happy
