Not to take money away from Parelli, but I found this for making your own carrot stick. Maybe you can whip one up by the weekend.

I think for a quicky fix you could just use duct tape for a handle and duct tape the string on the end. Yes, I am a redneck duct tape godess

OK... I'm back from town, I bought

    1 elec. Fence post $ 1.49
    1 roll of gorilla tape $ 4.55

I have on hand here at the house

    String(polly braided rope)
    Gorilla glue
    And old leather belt

All I'm lacking is the popper at the end...which I can add later.

I'll post some pics and let you know how long the project took and whether it will hold up or not.

OK.. I started this at about 5pm took me like 20 minutes to glue the leather strap on and wrap the end with tape. Now I gotta wait till the glue sets...about 3 hrs ( I know I won't wait that long ) to attach the string and wrap the leather then voila!!!

The black tape at the top (leather end) is just to hold it there while the glue sets.

The handle came out kinda weird but I like it, I was trying to make it smooth but the bumps actually make it easier to hold.

    OK.. semi-finished product* *

I still have to wrap the leather and I think I will change the string, the rope I had here was stiffer than I would like* though it may soften with use. I need to scrounge up a popper and then I think it would be just fine.

I tried it out on Twister and he didn't mind it at all. I got him to back with it and scratched him all over with it and* I TRIED to get him to circle but he just kept pivioting on his front end and swinging his rear so he was facing me the whole time** I must have gotten my wires crossed.* Then again we don't lunge very much so he may have been clueless all together.* He was consistant both ways with swinging his hiney so I settled for that so he could be praised.

After all, it was new to him too.I really like the weight & length of it (4') my wrists don't get tired like they do with my lunge whip.* but I may have weenie wrists cause like I said we don't lunge much.**
