When I first started jumping amber, just over small xrails, we were having a lot of problems. She would stop and walk over and knock everything down, She never refused, she just always fell on her forehand and couldn't get over properly. So I backed off the jumping for about 2 months. Have been doing a lot of dressage work, and getting her to lift up her front and work off her hindend. Lots of poles and grids, and lots of free jumping.
So yesterday I decided to try taking her over a cross rail. It was about 18" in the center, so it was a decent sized cross rail. And guess what? She jumped right over it perfectly, landed in a canter and cantered off! I jumped her over it about 4 times, and she did it great every time!! I am so proud of her!!
I feel so proud that my hard work paid off!! And I'm so proud of her! It's a such a wonderful feeling teaching a horse to do something right, and knowing that you're the reason they learned how to do it!
