I love riding early in the morning. At the barn by 6.30, on the horse by 7. No music, no kids, no other riders, no nothing.

To give you an idea how bad I can be, I'll be having a discussion with my husband and just lose track really badly and not even know it. He looks at me and says, "Butterfly......", as in I saw a butterfly and lost my train of thought, to try to break in and redirect me. Sometimes it even works.....LOL! Other times, we just have to laugh.
My husband and I call those our "Oh look, a Chicken..." moments.

Ok, so went in today, Saturday....when all the kids, 'hobby' riders and 'others' are there and decided.....stuff this, I'm going to own this freakin arena today, the teenyboppers who sit around on their horses the whole time and talk or walk abreast around the arena better find a spot out of my way, I'm working today!!

Haha as soon as they saw me loping and sliding and spinning, they stayed well out of the way, it only took for me to run kiddie corner across the arena and blast a slide towards them to say 'look! I mean business stay out of my way or fall in line and ride your horse!!'

I couldn't believe one girl actually sat on her horse for two hours yapping over the rail to another girl.....?????? WTH???

Anyway, I've decided to put my game face on and RIDE, plus I don't have to listen to the petty gossip!

It worked quite well, after I rode and cooled my horse out a guy came to the barn to ride a notorious bucker that's got out of control....was quite funny watching them all flee the arena!!!! Guess they should have ridden their horses while they had the time instead of sitting around lolly gagging!

Ps. The bucker decided it was better to smarten up!!! And I did actually achieve something today!!!!

I personally would never ride at a barn like that. People not paying attention while on horses is never a good thing. Good for you for sticking with a plan!

Yeah well it seems a few of the new people are pretty unambitious (is that a word) , haha they must think im hard on my horse! Last time I was at this barn it had a well known reinng trainer in it and was full of reiners and cowhorse people. Now there are only 4 of us.......so I'm going to have to channel it all out....I'm glad I don't ride in the evening, apparently it's a gong show.....I enjoy 'people' and I enjoy 'horses' however I really enjoy just 'me and my horse'.......and the occasional like minded better-than-me cowhorse or reining rider for company!

Yeah, I like barn chat as much as the next person, but when I'm on my horse, it's him and me. I filter everything else out.
