Default Just want to brag about my girl!

I bought my mare Katie in aug of last year, she was skinny and mean! I of course fell in love. She has since fattened up filled out and become a wonderful horse, but not without a lot of REALLY rough patches I threatened to send her to the glue factory the alpo factory and to the lowest bidder she was a monster. She kicked for everything brushing feeding if you looked at her wrong ears were pinned and heels were flying. I cried and cried she hated me. I had lots of experience but had been out of horses for 5 years and was being pushed all over by her. I just wanted to love her. I went to a clinton anderson clinic and it was like everything clicked duh I was not asking for respect. We have since become a great team she lets me do whatever I want to her, she still has her moody mare moments but but she doesnt lash out. The reason for this long post is because I fell off of her the other day I know WHAT? Well she put her pretty face down and nuzzled me never ran off just asked hey mom what are you doing down there? I hugged her she loves me and its great!! Thanks for reading my long silly post, my fall that wasnt her fault made me realize how far we have come.

Sounds like you are forming a bond with her, she needed someone who would stick with her no matter what and you showed her that you would.

Good for you.

Thanks I know it doesnt sound like much but she has improved soooo much she wouldnt even walk never mind trot or canter when I first got her, now she is so willing to try her best at anything I ask. I just really love that little mare.
