Just wanted to Share...

I just wanted to share my success with my new horse genesis. I bought him about a month ago, and for the first three weeks I let him get acclimated to me and his new surroundings, groomed and bathed him, walked him around, and just spent time with him. He is almost four, and just so lovable!!!!! last week I decided it was time to see how he would do in his new saddle and a full cheek snaffle. His previous owners said they always used a mechanical hackamore, as he was not a fan of mouth bits, but I thought, eh...he is young and with a little training maybe he will come around. the first few minutes he chewed on it, tried to get his tongue over it, and a more experienced lady just told me to let him get used to it. I fed him treats in it, and eventually he just accepted it. within five minutes!!!! i lunged him around a bit and he did very well. so I said, well....let's see how he does with me just getting on and sitting. he stood still for me and just did fabulous, about a minute later he looked back at me as if to say "so, where we going??" haha, and from that moment he as just been a gem. still young and confused every now and then as to what i am asking him, but he is just so awesome, and I feel so blessed to have gotten such a great horse. Just wanted to share my ecstatic feelings!! here is genesis in his new gear!

Awwww...he's cute You may want to get the back cinch for his saddle though, it seems to set up in the air a bit.

He's lovely!! Congrats!

Your right it does sit up, it's brand new so still annoyingly stiff. this was the first day on, it has gotten better. he's never had a back cinch, I actually cut that strap off. I was afraid he would get bucky if I did that. hopefully the more I ride in it the more the leather will soften. Thanks guys!!! he is a little cutie

He's a great looking horse. Congrats! It's great to hear that you have become good friends with him now, and that he's doing well. Keep it up!
