Talking Just wanted to share some progress!

Ah, so, the horse I've been riding, Daytona. About a year ago, she was very very hard to control.
Horrible jumper, horrible flatwork, etc. Didn't do well with a bit, if you gave her any contact, she'd evade it. & she'd get faster & be like a ROCKET through the jumps.

Now? SO much has changed. Her flatwork's absolutely amazing. Her jumps? She jumps 2'6 with no problem- about two weeks ago, 2'3 was her limit! Last night, she jumped a 2'6 course extremely well. I still have to slow her down, but not NEARLY as much as before. :)
& the bit problem? I used a bitless on her for awhile (which she did very very well in)- lately I've been using a bit, & she does extremely well! :)

I'm also taking her to her first show this year. Well, it's at a fair, but it will be a lot of fun. I'm not jumping her, however...because I feel she needs more schooling. :)
So, I just wanted to share my progress...I feel so accomplished.
I'm the only one that has the patience, & who can handle this horse. I'm the only one who rides her, & she needs a rider like me who KNOWS she has potential. I'm hopefully going to lease her soon. Anyway, thanks for reading!

I would be very careful about leasing. A horse that has a problem that is slowly be resolved by you will mean nothing to leasers.

They do not own the horse and only if you get a very special leaser, many if not most really do not care.

No, silly! I meant I am going to lease her (meaning I'm the one caring for her) LOL. & thanks! Nobody else can ride her well anyway, they don't like her.

Good for you for being so patient and confident! That in turn, I am sure, is building her patience and confidence! Probably a good idea too to just do flat classes at her first show. Take it slow! It seems to be working for you! Congrats!
