Looking for Pleasure Trainer for my AQHA!

Hi there, I am new to this forum, but am looking for a trainer to start my horse in the Western Pleasure/Hunter diciplines. He is completely broke, but I have been using him for dressage, and eventing, some stadium jumping. After about 7 mths of this I can tell his dream is to be a pleasure horse. I adore this horse, so whatever he wants he will get, I'd rather change than make him. The dressage is taking a back seat and am looking for a trainer to teach him his correct pleasure gaites and way of going. He is a 17HH, 1st level dressage, training level event horse, 9 years old, completely sound big grey gelding. He does not buck or rear and has no vices, other than being "slightly" studdish on the ground with mares present, NOT major, just a little dancy. (Proud cut) He is a joy to have in the barn. He just needs finishing for the pleasure diciplines. (he already somewhat knows how to neck rein) I would prefer a trainer located in Wisconsin or Michigan. I am not cheap, I want a great trainer to get him well underway. If you are someone, or know of someone who can help, please email me or message me. I have videos, pictures, etc.. of my horse that I can send, and also can trailer in for an evaluation if needed. My goal would be to show at local AQHA events or open shows in Ammy Western Pleasure, Hunter U/S and Hunter O/F, with a longterm goal of going to some recognized events. He just does not have it in the dressage and stadium jumping ring, his movement is definately pleasure. Thanks for your time! Hope this finds me the right person! I have been in the dressage ring for so long that I have no contacts for the other diciplines. =)

Do it cuz you love it!!! Otherwise don't bother!

Or I would look in the phone book for some of the barns in your area that specialize in western pleasure and give them a call to ask them about their training services/prices and such. You could even go to a show and see what their reputation is like, the quality of the horses/training at their barn, etc. I"m thinking you're going to get a better list of quality trainers there then on Craigslist. (not knocking CL, I know there are probably some amazing trainers on there, just saying)

Thank you!

Thank you for your responses, too bad Washington is clear across the country, lol! I did go to a show over the weekend where they were doing pleasure. I got one or two good leads from some riders. There is no one listed around here, but apparently there is a great trainer a few miles from me, that shows at the national level, but does not do anything locally, so that is probably why I did not know of him. I'm trying to reach him. If anyone has any other thoughts please let me know. =)
