    Check out statelinetack.com's training videos. It takes a while to finish all the videos but the one on lunging is VERY helpful. It points out a lot of problems with body language. It points out things that you might do that you probably don't realize!! Anyway check it out!

    Has he ever felt the business end of your whip? For your own safety your horse needs to respect you. It doesn't sound like he respects you at this time.

    I'd recommend getting assistance from a very good trainer.

    Update: Well. I feel like a huge idiot. He free-lunges fine when I don't use a whip, go figure. I just hold a coiled up lead rope in place of a whip and he's great.
