    I am not seeing in the breed standard where Haflingers are gaited.

    She's a haflinger/standardbred cross, but I didn't say she was gaited. I was just looking for opinions on what I can do with her this year as a two-year-old.

    I heard from an old timer, if you can stick your finger in their ear without them making a fuss its time to ride them
    I think you should start trying to get on her. Just make it for short periods of time. No longer than 10-15 minutes and no faster than a walk.
    If I can get my fat old butt on my girls you can do it too. Sounds like you have gotten her ready for it. Wear a helmet, it does wonders for your courage level

    LOL! You know what I'm doing first thing tomorrow!

    I appreciate everyone's input! I think I'll continue with some more saddling sessions, mount her a couple of time to get it out of my system , then introduce her to harness and some ground driving and go from there.

    OP didn't say her horse was gaited, that was Vidaloco who said hers were.
