Ok, to back myself up here - You want to get his feet moving, which is why I have said, ask the quarters to move, once he's feet are going, you can then refine it and get him going in the direction you want, as I also said above, you can focus on his barrel to then move the shoulders over, or focus behind him to then drive him forward.
I could have explained that better and see how it may have confused.

HL, you might want to look at the video I just posted in the Lunging GRRRRR thread. It's one I found on Youtube and is a very good demonstration. Listen to her closely, because every word she says is important. (Except the stuff about being sure the stirrup leathers don't flap! I mean, really. . . ) :)
