Exclamation Lunging Problems

I have a pony that when i lunge he comes into the middle of the ring when not asked.
It gets REALLY annoying and i get really frustrated. What do i do? how do i teach him not to come in the middle when not asked?

Our pony used to do this. My instructor said to keep moving so you're standing at his hindquarters, encouraging him to move out and forward. He's fine when he's lunged now! :)
Also try double lungeing, with two ropes? That's what we do, and it helps as you can have more contact on the outside rein to encourage him to move out! :)
Good luck! :)

He's coming in because he tried it and work stopped. My horse used to do this. Everytime he comes in the middle, drive him out and retest the halt. If he comes in the middle drive him out again.
