Micklem bridle issue

Hi, I have a 8 yo ottb who doesn't accept the bit very well. I have tried most every snaffle bit available with poor results. I bought a Micklem bridle about a month ago and started use it with a rubber snaffle. The problem is he is doing awesome while I am use the plastic bit connectors on the nose band, but as soon as I remove them he goes back to his old habits of head tossing and not accepting the bit. I have had his teeth done and chiropractor work done also. He is an event horse and the plastic bit connectors are not legal in dressage according to the usef. Any suggestions will appreciated. Thanks

Your horse is probably objecting to the bit lying on his tongue. Read this link about Mylar Bits. They are now approved for dressage in the US and they offer great tongue relief. http://www.actionridertack.com/blog/...-for-dressage/

I have run into several horse that hate a bit lying on their tongue. I have one now that rides entirely different (and much better) in a Mylar and opposed to any 2 or 3 piece snaffle.

Thanks Cherie.
I actually switched to a mylar 02 eggbutt the day before yesterday and a loose ring mb04 yesterday. Both with better results. I ordered a dee ring mb04 4.5 inch yesterday that should fit better. Thanks again.
