To keep them from getting snatchy for treats, I mess with my horses mouths all the time, rubbing their gums, pulling their tongue out, "mooshing" their lips around, etc. That way, they never expect a treat, they just think "moms being stupid again".

Then when I do give a treat, I almost have to shove it into their mouths because they aren't expecting it!

EDIT: It also helps immensly when it comes to dosing with paste wormer...they don't immediately realize it's wormer and I have time to get it all plunged in before they react!

Ahaha, my boy LIKES the wormer. Mind you, I do usually get him the nice flavoured kind :p
