I like his join up. It really does work and it helps set groundwork for other training methods. If a horse trusts you it will willingly follow you where ever you want to go and it will trust you to lead it throughsomething that frightens them.
I really haven't looked further than the join-up. I found that once my horse and I trusted and understood one another and communicated in his language, the training problems we were having were just miscommunications, and the rest fell into place. We get along great now, and he does whatever I ask him to do. Probably closed-minded of me to not look further, but at the same time, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
