I am beeming right now, so happy and proud of my little guy. Every lesson since we have moved to the new barn has ended on such a great note and we have progressed so much! My little guy is stepping up the plate and doing his job and I can see the light bulb come one many times in our lessons!
This last weekend I was able to geta private lesson, much needed one and was tring a dressage saddle out that would have worked great but the owner of it flaked out...oh well. We did lots of bending and change in rein I n the trot, really worked on bringing him back and balancing him through our leg yields
Worked on getting him to sit and smoothly go into the canter not just jump into it and brace through the poll and throatlatch! To the left is fro sure his eaiser way so we will start warming up to the right now.
We are still having issues with him suddenly pretending the arena doors are horse eating monsters and he is getting very good at dropping his inside shoulder and almost bloting into the midle of the arena....
This has gotten so old I am so sick of it. I have found if I growl and really hold him with my outside rein and kick hard with my inside leg he wont buldge nad drop his should as much but I should NOT have to work this hard for a stupid door....he is 5 and needs to get over this...nothing bad has ever happend with these door or any others since I have owned him its likea game he plays...cause when he is in a lesson with a less experainced person he doenst do it all and takes great care of him...exoect for two weks ago in his wnesday lesson with my friend (she rides him every wensday evening) and my trainer had to get one to get him to knock it off and she hada hard time with it, as soon as Cenia got back o he acted like it wasnt as big of a deal but would eye it and give it some room just didnt drop and budgle the shoulder. He is a small little guy and quick!!!
Anyways back to him being good, had to get hat out though cause its so darn frustrating!!! We are back to gymnastics and small 3-4 courses and he has so much scope!! He keeps up wth gator, a 16.2 hand TB gelding with a very large stride ( oliver is only 15.1..if that haha)
We looked at the calender for show seaosn and have a few jumper shows to go to and then end of summer might be doing abigger series! So excited....no if only that's shoulder would stay were it needs to.....
We hope to havea couple outings beofre show seaosn and havea lesson or two with an outside trainer that my trainer works with to see how he handles being out and about and a new place with lots of horses :)
Anywasy that's enough about how good my little guy has been in the last couple weeks :) Got a jumping lesson friday :) I will try to get someone to do video of us so you guys can tell me what you think :)
