oh thank you! Ya I corrected him real quick and he hasn't done it since. And with the food thing, he got over it too....i would stop when he started to advance towards me and say back up, and ide wait until he listened, then moved forward, ect. Now he just waits for me to put the food up there and when I say it's ok, he eats. It sounds meaner than it is, but it has worked so far. Thanks again!

Hope you are getting some good advice blu!

Just had to post this.......

Speaking of biting and kicking your horse - lol - my friend's brother actually bit their horse Arby. He has a real saddling problem when dealing with the cinch. He just gets to where he starts nipping. Well he bit my friend on the shoulder so he turned and pinched Arby's skin and bit him!

WHATS REALITY?

I agree with PaintsAqha - this is very bad behaviour and could get you hurt. You NEED to take control and let Blu know that you are not kidding around and you are the boss in this relationship. If that means getting a bit aggressive back I am all for it (although I am not saying that you should harm Blu just let her know whos boss).

One thing that you should always keep in mind when you smack or hit her is that she weighs 1200lbs - --------- you are only 1/10 of that, how much damage can you actually do?????????

On the eigth day God created the Quarter Horse..... on the ninth day, he painted the best ones........

He's getting better. And learning quick. In two days I taught him something! Not something special but...

I get him a flake of hay. Then I put my hand out to him and he has to touch it before I give him his food. Lol. Let me know if that's either wrong or weird! Lol. He doesn't like it much but it gets him that food! Lol. :-D

Me personally I do not like my horses to touch me when I am carrying food. Blu should be taught to turn head away if anything.

I agree Paints....that can turn bad real quick.
In a way it is giving him permission to advance to you when you have food.

Just remeber to be confident!
