So an update for you all, I have contacted a trainer and they will be coming to evaluate, Vet will come and Geld but only if I halter Diamonte, that was no surprise. Today I took my lead rope out stood on the other side of the fence and he came over and was very calm. I think he was a bit worried "Hey what she gonna do with that". So I am hopeful and can't wait to get started. Thanks for all your posts, approaching this with great caution. Thanks for keeping me and my family safe.

I hope everything works out the way you want it to.

I have seen quite a few horses that were gelded later in life, and it didn't do much for their temperament. The stallion behaviors seemed to have become habit and part of their personality, instead of being hormonally driven by the fact of being a stallion. I would definitely think long and hard about the time/effort/money it will take to geld him and make him into a horse for riding (which isn't even guaranteed will happen).

Good luck!
