when did you get hate? nobody has even been mildly rude to, blunt yes but that's how you need to be in the horse world. You have to take everything in stride and nothing personal.
My advice? well it's stating the obvious but, get mad. She pushes you? get mad she steps on you? get mad she disrespects you in any way? GET MAD.

You need to do a lot of groundwork with her and teach her about personal space. there are tons of groundwork exercises that help in teaching ground manners and saddle manners. Whether she is caught or not, once you do enough groundwork with her and she begins to respect you she should also respect you in her own pasture. If you aren't sure about how to go about this, it's best to get someone to help you.

I think it is rubbish to say that it takes longer to teach an older horse manners! I have never found it any different to any age.
The important thing to remember is to set tight boundaries to start, be very firm, follow through and be consistent.
I am ver experienced and you cab be assured that a horse will know within seconds that I will not take any nonsense! I will firmly but fairly correct anything that was unwanted - every time. I reckon it takes them two days to know that I wil not be walked through, pulled around or any barging in the stable.
toto and kewpalace like this.
