Nova Training Thread...

So Novas really improved in her training in the past year. Worked on dressage/hunt seat for the past 5 months working with different instructors along the way. I've learned SO much from them.. for those who dont have an instructor.. seriously look into getting one.. it helps SO much. Now im starting to give lessons to students. :) Been to a few shows, jumping 2' - 2'6 exceptionally well. Haha Im not confident to go much higher right now. So that's probably where we will stay till I start jumping lessons next month on a different horse to get my confidence up. But the point of this thread is to just keep a record of Novas training as we go. Cause there are a few things I need some imput on .. like how to improve what she already knows.. or getting what I want for her to do a clearer. I know there's a lot of really knowledgeable people here and im open to all advice. I do have an instructor I can go to double check things and such. Just would like to get some advice on here. :)

Right now the biggest issue we are having is half passing. She can leg yeild at w/t/c ..turns on the forehand, counter bends.. bends normally [not sure wat to call that lol] Turns on the haunches, side passes etc.. but when attempting a half pass.. she either will loose impulsion and barely move.. or get to much forward.. not enough leg crossing, especially the hind end. Any imput on that?? Lol I need to find a in the middle road some how between the two.

For people who dont know Nova here are some pictures :)

Ill be putting pictures and videos up every so often. :)

what aides are you using to ask for the half pass and how are you doing it as in are you coming from the corner across the arena or coming down the centerline and asking to move to the rail?
