I believe in one person horses... I have two.. They are both very well trained and seasoned horses, they know their jobs. I usually don't let others ride my horses but my sister, Holly, and I ride very similar so when she asks to ride my barrel horses I have no problem with it. Two of my horses won't work well for Holly..She can get on my mare and Nikki will work okay for Holly, she's very hesitant to work for Holly but I can get on her and she'll work flawless for me.. It's just different personalities.. My gelding isn't a fan of others riding him, he doesn't suffer fools lightly and will take advantage of you if you don't know what you're doing, except kids, he loves little kids.

Well like I said in my original post don't know if these are such one person horses but rather horses of a higher flight temperament. In the beginning with these horses handling & training they have to find a trust & reasurrance from their handler.I believe some people just have that more calming non threatening approach with these horses so yes they respond better to them.At THIS point they are more one person type horses. I think once the horse starts gaining experiences, starts trusting humans & new situations that changes. They gain a confidence & more accepting of more people. At least that is what I have found with my experience with these 2 horses. Both my horses had a short encounter with experienced trainers, both trainers threw in the towel on these geldings as they were too much spook. My friend also had a horse just like them, when she sent him to trainer he put him in hospital, the horse came back a basket case. It took alot to get that horse turned back around, but he went on to make an Amateur performance horse

I never said there were not horses that went better for one person, nor that there were not one person horse's only that these horses are not trained well enough to accept another rider.

I once had a very good horse that I worked for dressage. He was a nervy type, cough, sneeze or fart and he would shake in his shoes. My instructor tried riding him and he was a nervous wreck.
Having qualified for a championship I then broke my leg, I wanted to go to the championship but obviously couldn't ride him myself so he went to my instructors.
A week of him riding this horse and it was going beautifully. Sickeningly better for him than me!

It was a matter of the horse just getting use to others.
