Good for you. You did exactly what you should have done. The mare is OK. The mare or the foal can be caught and doctored if one needs to be and the mare should be OK with her next foal. You just must have both of them where they can be safely handled. It is more safe for them and for you. You did good.

great job!!! Once the mare realizes you aren't going to hurt her baby she will even get to the point of not being in sight........having and working with the foals are so rewarding and so much fun!

My horses are the joy in my life.....
