Parking out a Morgan

I have a 2 year-old morgan colt that I want to show in halter. I showed him last year and he did really well but since then he has decided that he doesn't want to park out right. He will square up and step his front feet foreword but he wont push his weight into his chest unless I have treats, but then his head and neck look funny because he is just trying to get to the treat without moving his feet. Any suggestions?

Honestly I'd just keep working with him. It's going to take some time and in the long run he may not be a halter horse. My mare did the same thing one show season she would park out and then the next she would but, like your colt, she wouldn't lean no matter how hard I tried. You just need to constantly work with him until he figures it out and understands what you're trying toget him to do (which is not just try and get the treats lol)
