I have posted before about my horses attitude, and I'm able to handle it I just don't understand why it is not stopping. My guy is 7 this year and he is an OTTB. When I get on him he is always great to ride walk trot, lots of transitions and patterns, but some days (not all of them) He is a really big jerk to canter. I go to ask him to canter and somtimes he bucks sometimes he takes off and then starts bucking or he will start spooking at everything ( this does not happen UNTILL I ask for a canter) Now this is not every ride some rides he is amazing, if he knows he's going to be jumping he is always amazing. But somedays when I just do flat he acts like that, its driving me nuts! Everytime he starts bolting or bucking I will ride him untill he stop doing it but like I'm loosing hope that it will stop! Is this somthing anyone else deals with? I have talked to my trainer and she says that with more work it will go away... but its not! He can go a week of being really good and then all of a sudden he is a jerk again.
Ps- I have had the vet check him and he is in no pain, also had his saddle checked and it fits fine. He's always got his ears perked and happy until I ask for him to canter. Everyone I'm around says he always looks like he enjoys working. Everyone says he's just a energetic perky horse.
Sorry for the essay, I'm just getting at the end of my rope and I wanted to see what everyone thought.
