Long story made short, I just purchased a teenage mare, whom after I found the prior owner they state the mare" hated her owner" and bucked each and every time she rode her. However, she never bucked anyone else who she let ride her and was great with kids and has excellent manners, and weight was not an issue. Any thoughts? now I am a tad concerned:-(
I have a horse that will buck with most people. Yet they see me work cattle with him and you woild never guess hed be that kind of horse. Posted via Mobile Device
Did you do a test ride? How long have you had the horse and have you ridden her since purchase? If yes to either/both of those - has she bucked with you?
If it was just one person who the horse would buck with it is likely more an issue of the rider than the horse, imo.
Well, horses don't love or hate. Some test their riders, and if you fail, some will take you back to the barn and others might buck you. Is it possible that her owner was just a really bad rider? Or a really annoying rider? Constantly nagging (kicking, pulling, being heavy handed, etc)... I think that is more practical than the horse "hating" its owner.
