Stretching your horse before you get on to ride can help too. Flicka has the same problem and I've found that stretching before the ride and LOTS of trotting to warm up helps a lot. I think it helps her get more loose and supple so she's more likely to get her right lead when I ask for it. Always make sure to work your horse equally on both sides, even if you're just out on the trails. It sounds like your horse just has an imbalance problem. You'll get it worked out eventually. :)
