Rode John again........FINALLY!!!

I finally rode John again today after a long break. His last ride was sometime in February. I think this makes a total of somewhere around 6 rides ever.

Anyway, starting off with some pix.

And now the video...... DUN, DUN, DUH..... He still needs a LOT of work.
Sorry the first one is really long.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

I LOVE the pics! John looks like such a sweet guy! No wonder you're so proud of him, I would be too!

THAT is the MOST AWESOME horse. What an incredible-looking trot. Nothing quite like a Percheron.

don't worry, spiders, I keep house casually.

Haha, thanks. I make his trot look so much better than it is. I CANNOT sit it and I feel a little out of control when he is trotting because it is so big that it kinda throws me around. It sure is pretty to watch though. *ssshhhh, I like his lope so much better. It is long and flat* LOL.

I sticked him last night and he is 18 hands even. O.O I have to have help to get on since he won't stand for mounting just yet.

^^ I will one of these days. He doesn't quite follow his head like I would like near the house (typical colt "I know you want me to go that way but I wanna go this way so I will bend my neck but continue to travel the other way and hope you won't notice" LOL) The only time I lope him is on the straight flats of a pasture. At that speed, circles and hills are far too hard on him and make me nervous because he is so clumsy.

Smrobs,

John is sooo cool. I just love the tiny snip at the end of his nose! You too look so cute together! I bet once you have more time on him you will see and feel a difference in his trot.
Can't wait to see him after you two get more rides in. Too bad I did not live closer to you, it would be so awesome to take his photograph and try to do something fun with it in photoshop. Or even to paint him!
