Okey dokey, so two years ago at a show, I was in a western pleasure class and the judge suggested using romel reins on Moon, because being a National Show Horse (ArabxSaddlebred if you don't already know) he has a higher headset. Arabians in general use them anyways and he's more Arabian in appearance. I've been looking at them and shopping around and I was wondering how they work. How are they different from regular reins for setting Arab heads for western? Thanks for your answers in advance!
Huh, that is a darn fine question. I hope someone can answer it for you. I know that romel reins have more of a set position as opposed to split reins. It would be nearly impossible to end up with one rein longer than the other with them. I would guess that maybe it is just that romel reins are more the fashion for the higher headed show horses.
