Zierra doesn't have a running walk, but I absolutely ADORE Arabs for being able to do the half-walk/half-trot jig. Zierra is pro at doing it in a very relaxed manner - we compromise when she wants to go and I want to walk, if I give her her head a bit, she'll amble along at this absolutely smooth jogging pace. I don't even know how to describe it, but I've found most Arabs can do it. I suppose it would almost be the equivilant of the western pleasure jog, but more like a fancy Arab walk with a bounce.
Yes!! Lacey totally does that too! It's my favorite.
Last summer at camp she'd sometimes get really into it and I'd just be happily going along being like "this is the best gait ever!", then we'd hear a shout and discover that the 10 kids on horses behind us were basically being left in the forest.
After that happened a few times I had to rein her in a little bit more and not let that happen, but man, it was way comfier than a walk and we were going places!
She has a super long stride too so we can cover major ground.
I think she does other "gaits" too, but I only discovered them this last year and since then I haven't been riding anywhere where I could get videos. Maybe next summer.
