Show in a month, what classes whould I enter in?
Hey you guys! Hope you are staying warm inside on these really cold icey days!
I have just signed up for the first show of 2011 with my 4 year old TB mare, and wanted to know what you think would be a good combination or classes, what would be considerd to much for the day and all that good stuff or a green horse. This will be her 3rd show. I did two shows with her last year, a dressage schooling show and a 4-H show.
Dressage show I did Intro A and training level1. In intro I got a 58% and on intro I got a 56% and as that being her first dressage show I couldnt have been happier. I did 18" and 2ft jumper classes and won the 18" class and got 4th in the 2ft and that was also her first time ever seeing jumps with standers as well as ever being ridden on a jump course.
4-H show I did 3 walk trot canter classes and got 3rd, 5th and 8th. Really big classes and then cut the arena in half so again havingher be ina class with that many horses for the first time and be so good I was very pleased. I also did 18'' and 2'3 jumpers with her and she got 2nd in 2'3 and 3rd in18''
This will be at a new locaton, longer haul, and ALOT more horses at the show. (its at Donida) if you live in WA state you know of the place Im sure, very big training/show barn.
The classes I was thinking of entering her in:
2.Walk only eq and pleasure
3. Walk trot eq and pleasure
4. Walk trot canter eq and pleasure
So that is 7 classes but well spaced aprt from other classes so she can watch and rest, eat and chill. She is super well manerd at new places likes she lived there her whole life...somtimes I wish was like that at home haha
Let me know what you think.
I also want to know what I should really work on nailing down, for eq and plasure, I ussally only show dressage or jumpers its been bout 6 years since I showed at a show like this, I was pretty clueless at the 4-h show, though I knew everyone and wasnt really focused on anything but keeping my mare in the arena and not to get worried.
