    Thanks guyss I finally got her to side pass in the direction I wanted her to go! You guys were a fantasic help :)

    I agree with using something solid in front of her, like the fence or a wall. Also, my old mare had a lot of trouble going to her left. I basically had to get off her and teach her to do it on the ground first. Once she understood the movement going to the left and was comfortable with it I got back in the saddle and she picked it up quickly.
