So Ive decided I have 3 options...

1. Trade Savhanna for a started horse
2. Sell Savhanna and buy a started horse
3. Send her in for 30 days.

WELL.. I've decided for option #3. I realized that I can't do this on my own with the amount of work Im doing, and its just not fair to me or her. So, Im looking for a trainer to put 30 days on her. I don't want to sell or trade her because I LOVE her, which is why Im going to put the money into the training for her, so she can be started right :) Im proud of myself to be able to say "I need help, and I can't do this. To much of a responsibility"

Like, Im horse crazy, but I know when things are to tough for me to handle.

Like, the farrier came out today, and we both think her other farrier used to hit her, because she kept kicking, and getting scared she would take off as far as possible. Thank got my farrier was so patient with her. He got kicked 4 times, but not once did e raise his voice, or hit her.

So, 30 days I think will be a good start, and I will see where that gets me :)

I think you have made a wise decision. You should try to find a trainer who will let you be a part of the training process. Its best if you are trained along with the horse. That way you will know how to make him do what he is being taught...Did that make sense?

Oh yes, that made sense :)
I've been looking around some already, and I've contacted two that are in my vicinity aswell. Hopefully I find a good one.

I think that is a very wise decision. Sending her to someone who breaks/starts horses for a living can do a great job. That is what they do...there is no fault on your part for saying you need help...good for you! I hope you find a great one and she learns quickly! Keep us posted!

I already found one :) My uncle and auntie acctually send horses there to start, so I know she is going to be in good hands. She's going in for 30 days, for $650. She will be just outside of town, so I can go see her as often as possible. And maybe I will put out another $650 (MAYBE) for 60 days, but I know I can do the finishing myself :)

The main thing is, once they get that time in on them. Keep up the work
The less training a horse has the more often they need ridden. We try to ride our young girls for at least 30 min. Every day. If we miss a day or two we sometimes have to back up a bit to retrain.
Good to hear you found a trainer. Keep us posted on how its going

Hey Trinity!
Good for you! I have been thinking the same thing. I can do this all on my own or just pay to have it done. Being that I am still trying to get my own body in shape I figure I might inquire how much it will cost. I like that the other poster suggested about being part of the training...
I have never sent my horses to be trainned. I have always done it myself, but I am not sure I want to do it all this time around...
Take lots of pics and post them so we can see your progress...

I don't have to pay anything at all.
My boss/ riding instructor is going to train her for me for free
