Spook Less CD

Has anyone tried them?

I'm not sure what you mean.. is this a title of a DVD?

Honestly spooking comes from lack of confidence in either the horse itself or the horse's handler.

Both are very easy to work on, so long as you stay consistent and dedicated to fixing the issues.

I have them, they use them for police horses and Clinton Anderson uses them also from what I've heard.
I play mine usually in the spring when the neighborhood wakes up LOL gets them used to all kinds of noises without having a heart attack!

And yes at one time you could buy them on the Downunder horsemanship website. I just wondered how well they worked with the horse only hearing sounds and not actually seeing what would be making those sounds. Any input is appreciated.

I agree with Sky but I have to say it sounds like a very interesting concept!

Another gimmick. And more money in someone's pocket.

People that show horses who are exposed to carnivals, balloons, and all sorts of odd things, do not spend time trying to despook horse. If horse is being handled right? Rarely is any of this needed.

If it is? You can record all sorts of sounds yourself and save the money.

Same with desensitizing, you can do pretty much the same thing with a rub rag. And get same or better results.

Save your money would be my suggestion.

I don't agree with you, yes they cost money but what person can do is download sound effects off the net and put them on a mp3 player or make a CD. I think it helps them on how they react to loud noises of different things.....a rub rag doesn't sound like chain saws/guns going off/kids screaming/etc.....

I just ordered the trail one and can't wait to try it out! Although I will say I think my horses got a pretty good desensitizing the last three weeks with all the barn work going on. Funny, I could tell the horses were glad when the guys were done with the saws.
