    Super scary bicycle training

This evening when we were with Citrus, my daughter found a little bike with training wheels and started riding it in the stall aisle. Citrus will notice a cycle from across a huge field when we are riding- so this got his attention.

I had her ride up to him, then back up a bit. The first time he did his wide front leg, big eyed, snort but then wanted to follow it. I let him. Then I had her ride up to him and stop when I saw him get that look in his eyes. I then would walk him up to it and let him sniff to his hearts content. (He is big into smelling things- even the things he sees daily- his saddle, his brushes)

After a few passes, he was good with it. I wish I had pictures because he was stretching his neck like Arabians do. Very cute.

My boys (non-horsemen) always used to go on the trails with me with their mountain bikes-great training for sure! But...move that jump.....YIKES!

Hahaha. The first time my mare Whooty saw a bike she did nothing. About 20 of them passed us because there was a race thing down my road. Then she decided to stick her head in the grass and get a bite to eat When she brought her head up another bike was passing and you woulda thought it was a lion. Lmao! She soon realized it wouldn't eat her but it was hilarious!

My practically bomb-proof mare dislikes the noise they make, that clicking when the person isn't pedaling. She'll give them a good look and then get on with our trail ride :)

The new filly, Barbie Doll, is deathly terrified of bikes. Dear god, if she sees one leaning against the fence she freezes and fights the bit until she runs back home.....Eh, work in progress.....xD

I think Citrus concurs with all of these bike issues.... they are clearly horse eating machines, even from miles away, and must be tolerated as such. Silly horse.
