    Thats ok, maybe next time you jump in like that though, remember that the thread is about helping the OP out with ideas, and if someone posts an idea that conflicts with your own, it does not in any way mean that they are going out of their way to down you. What I posted was simply what has always worked for me on over probably 10-15 horses that have been significantly spooky, and there is a good chance that it will work for the OP as well as I find that just ignoring the scary 'horse eating monster' is good for calming the rider's nerves too - as a kid I would let the horse stop and stare, and the whole time I'd be getting more and more tense worrying about whether the horse was about to leap away, would I be able to put my leg on, will the horse listen if I try to turn away etc.

    Thanks for the advice. Smrobs, I like your idea, I'm just a bit concerned that she'll act like justjump's horse and get even more upset and frightened.

    And she normally doesn't spook at objects, just things we can't see.
