Ok so yesterday with my day off I figured I would practice loading my part / almost all blind twh and denny.
We are focusing on jessie
He loads and unloads fine.
I have a 2 h straight load and I need to pull the divider all the way to one side to load him so he can think there is alot of space. Which is fine I do that with the arab to for now... until he gets more comfortable.
Anywho after I loaded him he was content with eating from the hay bag. Then I noticed him constantly turning his head and putting it on the otherside of the divider where the other horse would be.
I figured since we were just practicing I wouldnt hook him up with the trailer snaps that break when pulled on. So when he started trying to turn more and more I decided to tie his lead in a qucik release knot to keep him from turning.
Then he started to pull the lead which led to the knot coming out. So then I figured I would hook him up to the trailer tie. So then instead of just pulling back alittle bit like he was doing before he put his head down and got stuck under the chest bar.when he got his head up the trailer tie was stuck around his head and I had to take off his halter to get everything readjsuted safely.
He didnt panic which is a good thing but did let out that he was annoyed. So then I disconnect the tie and put the halter back on.
My question now is... how should I tie him to keep his head above the chest bar and to keep it from turning?
Ps note : not sure if it helps but this horse is the hodini!! Escapes out of everything even though he has the worst eyesight. So note sure of the right way to go about this.
