No don't tie a lead to his leg. Hold the lead in your left hand while you pull his left foot with your right hand. And just pull it straight back to his back left hind. DON'T pull it out and back. Just straight back and don't do it rough and hard. If you have his head pulled enough to the side. He should be put off balance enough to just lay down and then lay all the way to his side.
