Exclamation this type of thing annoys me so much.

*slight rant warning*
Horse Revolution
i just found this website, and it has beyond p***ed me off. it is such extremist fear mongering, and just gives all horse handlers a bad name, portraying us as monsters or just simply as idiots. the information is so one sided, and so arrogantly uninformed that it made me search for quite some time to find the "horse hero"'s email address so i could point some questions at him. like, seriously, does he think that every time we ride we inflict this excruciating pain, and that's the only reason the horse complies? this is utter BS. if this was true, then that's suggesting that no horse is happy in its job, grrrr! i mean for gods sake, i had to retire my old mare 3 times because at age 30 she would jump into the arena from the pasture while i was riding and follow on like a ride! has he never ridden a truly happy, willing horse? because if not, he has no right to spout such crap.
i would love to get him on my horse and put him on a XC course, let him see how reluctant she is, how scared and in pain she feels. honestly, i could hold the buckle end and she'd happily go around! and i'm sure pretty much all of us find this in one discipline or another. this guy has just found some horrific pictures of bad examples of horsemanship in the disciplines, or even just unfortunate moments in a good partnership, and shoved them all together to upset people and create a knee jerk reaction that all horse sports are cruel.

as if a stallion would allow itself to be bitted if the bit was sitting directly on top of a nerve! this guy forgets that even if this were true, and we did have control of the horse by 'pain' when in the saddle, we'd have to actually get into the saddle of a disagreeable horse. not easy.
the whole thing almost sucked me in for a minute, too. thats what is worst about it! i started feeling a little guilty and cruel, and thats just manipulation!!! because i have never caused my horses that pain, and i dont care what he thinks, they love their job.
rant over. opinions would be greatly appreciated so i dont feel so overly dramatic on my own. :P
for some reason, it really riled me up
thanks for getting this far!!

LOL it's stupid, but I've never heard of that website, and I'm sure many others haven't. I would be worried if that website was heavily populated, but it doesn't seem to be, so that admin or whatever can just waste their time spouting off nonsese ;)

RiderGirl123: lmao.

The only stuff I don't agree with in the equestrian world is harsh training methods such as what some people do to gaited horses like soring and tendon cutting, etc. And I also oppose racing because it's so incredibly dangerous for both the horse and human. But that's just my opinion. And some people just have no idea how to handle horses, even if they've been around them their whole life, which, in turn, creates a hazardous situation.

Nezorov has been around for a long time... (I noticed this stuff seemed to be written by his wife... but I'm sure they share the same views)

I will admit that I am amazed if he can achieve what he shows on his site without the use of coercion, with any horse... but I'd love to see him take a horse from start to finish before deciding if he's really what he claims to be and whether I support his views. If he is... I would LOVE the chance to learn under him... if he's not... well, needless to say he'll join the rest of the "big name" NH people in the world.

Over the years I've heard him called a variety of things - the most colorful of which was "The Bit Nazi". I actually don't mind his extremist views - PROVIDED he lives up to his own standards in any and all cases.

As far as I know, it's a closed forum they offer - and it's not "simple" to get a membership. I suppose this is one way to ensure that you won't ever have questions come up that you can't answer....

That's just silly!

I'm all for humane treatment of animals and some of the very harsh training/breaking methods make me feel sort of sick but is that all horse owners? Is that the majority of horse owners or equestrians? Of course not.

I guess that sort of sensationalist attitude might get attention and money but if you have to put others down in order to make a point or to build yourself up you can't be that great.

Teach by example, show the wonderful things you can do and how you do them and why... don't tear down the honest and well meaning people around you just to make a few bucks. Ew. FEEL GUILTY ABOUT YOUR ABUSED MISUSED ANIMAL YET!?

well... in a small way I CAN see his point, once I got past his insulting language. He's more abrupt than necessary though, and I don't appreciate his fanaticism.... but I can see his point.

I notice most (if not all) of the posters here are from North America, I think it might be a good thing to remember that he comes from a different culture. I'm not excusing it, but it made it easier for me to look past his "attitude" to see his ideas.
