Update on our training.

Hey Everyone.
Well my horse and I are working on lounging and getting him to "Ho"
And also to learn how to stretch his head downward.
My trainer says he needs to develop more muscles along the top line and through his spine before we get on him.
Now when we had our lesson with the trainer it was really good, and of course she is better at it than I am.
I think I have also given my horse some bad habbits...lol

I decided that when I start back at college I will have her work with the horse one day a week without me there and then I will do a lesson with her every other week. I will also take a riding lesson every other week.

If I could afford to have her work with him more I would.

Teaching him to "ho" is good some days and not so good other days and I end the session early if he is being good.
He is learning fairly well since it has only been a week. He gets 2-3 days off a week.
Here is a pic that my neighbor took from our lesson last week...

There is a post in the way..lol my neighbor is not used to my big digital camera but I am working on teaching her so she can take more pic.
I think he looks pretty good in this picture.

I trained horses and rode horses for other people when I was in my teens and early 20's, but it has been so long I feel like and ameture all over again.
It seems I have become a bit of a softy.
We are also working on his fidgeting (sp)
He leans on me a lot. For instance when I am bridleing him or when we have ended a session and he wants to rub.
The trainer showed me a few things to do to teach him to better respect my space.
We are also working on a bit of yeilding the hind quarters from pressure.
That's my update.
I will be taking another riding lesson soon.
Thanks to all for the support and advice. I really appreciate it.
