video for training

How many of you use video for training?

There's a lot of advise to 'get a proffessional trainer's help', which is good, but you know how hard it is to put into words what you see and make someone else understand.

Getting feedback from video has been very helpful, to me anyway not the horse, he won't watch the video.....

These little Canon cameras fit in a shirt pocket and all take about 15 minutes of video ... you can review them frame by frame and watch the details of how you communicate. A picture is worth a thousand words.
Do others find it handy to use video for training?

when I remember my camera, i do find it very helpful.
My camera, from what I have found, can only take 10 min videos, which stinks because it's only 10 min of video.

If you are gaming, 10 minutes makes a lot of runs on the poles or barrels.

I dont have a camera but when my brother comes to visit I have him tape me. Since I dont have anyone to yell at me about my seat/etc It is good for me to evaluate and correct myself. This also allows me to see how my horse is moving.

It helps out tons.

It's not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference.
