weight muscle gain

Hey Guys,

Quick question.. I am looking into this horse that needs a bit of weight and muscle but isn't overly skinny or anything (the owner can jump her over a 2'6" course but still needs more muscle and weight). I was just wondering if you guys had some good exercises you may use to help gain some muscle on your horses.

Being able to be jumped over 2'6" has nothing to do with whether she is at a good condition or not - and, imo, any horse that "needs muscle and weight" is not fit to be being asked to do such a thing.
No one can advise you on what the horse needs without actually seeing the current condition - as your opinion of "needs a little muscle/weight" may differ quite a bit from that of others.
Weight comes from a properly balanced diet that is putting in more calories than are being used daily (can't advise on that without knowing what is being fed to the horse, having certainty about it's current condition, etc).
Muscle should only be built once you are certain the nutritional needs are being met - and appropriate levels of work can't be suggested without knowing what is beign worked with.

OK well she is currently on high fat and high fiber with some flax appeal added to that and takes a supplement. She is not overally skinny at all it's more because he saved her from a meat guy. He said that she needs to be worked on the flat to help re-gain some muscle and was wondering if you had any exercises you do on the flat that may help gain back some muscle as I only know a few and want a bit of a variety. I don't know if that really helped. But it's a horse I am looking at to buy.
