Western Pleasure; retraining an older horse.

Hey everybody! I am buying my old lesson horse soon. He is a AQH, 23 year old, 15.3-16.1(haven't measured him in a while), gelding, trained in WP. He was trained professionally in Georgia for WP, but has gotten a little 'rusty' over the years. Since he was a lesson horsefor too many beginners!

Well, now he is going to be my dad's horse. Now, I want to re-train him for in WP, but am having a little trouble. Any ways to polish him up? Thanks!

Take him to WP trainer. If you don't know where all of the old buttons are, all you can do is mess him up worse.

A show trainer will find out real fast if he has been 'spur trained' or has any special WP horse buttons. People that don't know WP training will just pull on his mouth and keep messing him up worse.

[A WP trainer should be one winning on a National level or close to it. Not a WP wannabe.]
