Western pleasure gates and reining

Hi,
I have a 10 year old appolossa thoroughbred gelding who is trained western. He was used as a trail horse so he has a slow trot or fast jog and he canters instead of loping. He is trained with indirect reining and is only ever been ridden with a normal snaffle. He is very tolerant of new things though.
I was wondering you have any suggestions (videos for me to watch, articles to read or just personal experianceetc) that would help me slow his passes and learn to neck rein.

Thank you
