Here is the section of Horse Forum rules which pertains to the posting of videos and photos .

8- Please do not post pictures to be critiqued of anyone other then yourself.
If a member chooses to post a picture to be critiqued, the member is required to only post pictures of themselves and of no other person. Forum members can however, post pictures of other horses. This rule only applies in the critique section. Members are free to post appropriate pictures as they please when necessary in any other section.

This thread and the OP are not asking for a critique though. I'm reading it as, "is this what the judge wants to see," or, "is this correct." Wouldn't that make it an informative thread?

The Riding Critique section says you should only ask for critiques of your own videos. However, for pictures of, say, rollkur, halterbred QHs (I posted some pictures on a current thread - OPENING UP A CAN OF WORMS (halter horses)), training techniques, etc...we really can only post our own videos or pictures? I rather doubt that.
You are referring to methods that are shown by PROFESSIONAL trainers and or at shows where one cannot expect to be subject to any expectation of privacy.

The problem is that it BECOMES a critique.

This is not at a show or some place where the person in the video would expect critique comments but a privately owned video.

In this particular case since the horse is lame we cannot CONSTRUCTIVELY critique its "training" anyways.

That poor horse, how anyone can look at those gaits and think that's beautiful is beyond me!

This has not become a critique of the owner. It HAS become a critique of WP judging...which is fair game.

"Members are free to post appropriate pictures as they please when necessary in any other section" - and this is another section.

As for a right to privacy: AFAIK, no one posting video on YouTube has the right to believe her video will be private use only. Thus, she has no expectation of privacy.

That horse's gait was not particularly much worse than a multitude of western pleasure horse videos posted on Youtube and here. I find hardly a one that doesn't look lame and am quite honestly baffled as to why this is considered pleasure? I know it is hard to teach a horse to trot that slowly and canter that slowly, but I just don't get why you would want this? To the point of the horse looking lame or actually becoming lame.

This subject has been discussed at great length, and I might get in trouble for saying that I dont' get WP for the most part. Hope I haven't totally ruffled anyone's personal feathers by this. I just dont' get it.

^^ It seems a show fad to me, just like bodybuilding halter horses. If you want to canter slower than a trot, walk. I honestly think that if someone saw you 'cantering' down a road like that, they'd call the animal cruelty folks and complain.

Would you mind throwing up a video of your "training" so we can discuss it.

    Much obliged.

When I post my training or riding on YouTube, have a nut - as can every other horse forum in the world.

Until then, learn to live with disappointment.
