I agree that goals change all the time! Heck, a month and a half ago my goal was to do well on the Florida circuit this spring, ride at WEF and HITS Ocala, basically play around in the jumpers. Well, Florida fell through because of financial issues, but I've just discovered a nice eventing/dressage/jumper facility two hours from me, and *knock on wood* if their insurance will cover me, Dante will be moving up there and I'll be living in the apartment in the barn! :) They hold a bunch of competitions on site, and there's something going on within an hour every week. Granted, it's Maine, and I won't be doing a lot of the USEA stuff (we only have one USEA event in the state), but after checking out the local courses - heck, some of the Novices are more Training! :) It'll be a fun challenge.
So my goals for this year are:
To ace the canter work with Dante and show First Level, school Second. On a good day, his canter work is EASILY Second Level-quality, but we lack consistency. Hopefully once I get him out of our 15x40 indoor (seriously.) and into a ring he FITS into, he'll be much happier!
I also want to start him out with some BN events and N combined tests, and then move him up to N events and T combined tests - all aiming for the GMHA Novice Three-Day in August (IF I can afford it. Big IF.)
Other than that, just have fun! Explore the trails, school lots of cross country, and show, show, show! :)

And now, the men of the Second Armored Division with their famous close-order swanning about.

Right now, our goals are simple, but tough! Teach Danny to be consistantly forward, light on the aids, and back in shape. We're also focusing on actually teaching him how to jump, opposed to his barrling towards and hurling himself over a fence! As for me, I need to work on my lower leg, hands, and balance. I'll be thrilled if we make a lot of progress this summer!

Smart people listen. Not so smart people think they do not need to hear what others have to say.

Goals for Honor!! :
Short Term Goals ::
~Become calm and ride-able with out lunging before every ride...
~Building up his trust with me a bit more, and working on my trust of him...
Long Term Goals ::
~Get into some dressage classes...
~Do some canter classes...
~Be a very stable team

But they always change, and something new and exiting is waiting for us right around the corner :)

My Goals - I want to get to a respectable level in Eventing and start my own Eventing Facility where I can teach, clincs and etc, etc.

I want to make it to Prelim and Advanced, and eventually work my way to 1* and see where I go from there.

I want my own students, my own name, my own barn, my own line of horses and to compete, train, compete, compete and train.
