I'd be anxious after seeing that, too! Is this the first training the horse has ever had? I'd be concerned that the trainer, by using an improperly-fitting saddle, not only caused pain/discomfort but may have affected the way your horse thinks about being ridden. If the horse learns that riding=pain...that's a terrible lesson!
Did you address the white marks with the trainer? What did he say?
