Will she be chosen out of a field of bays?

Tess is a pinto/connemara mare. Now im going to starts showing with her, but just wondering...She has good movement, natural extensions, beautiful head carriage (now) soft mouth, smooth transitions and all that. Now just wondering, would she have a chance against a plainly coloured horse? As I have had previous encounters with judges that didn't look at me in the ring. And please don't say it could have been the other horses were better, I have heared that too many times and I accept that other horses could be better. THE JUDGES DIDNT EVEN LOOK AT ME IN THIS CERTAIN RING! So......what do you thnik? Do we have a chance? Oh and I am registering her with pinto assoc so will also be showing in breed class....

Well most judges discriminate coloured horses because they are very flashy, stand out from the crowd and are not common. People say they create illusions and interfears with the most valuable points of the horse. The show judges are very strict on tradition, but they seem to forget fashion is ever changing.

Its a sad fact but its hard to change there minds. So keep at it and they will realise someday...Its all rigged anyway, everyone pays the judges off to win either that or you call bluff (big truck fancy horses ect).. Its just the name of the game!!

Tahnx jack that's made me feel better. Today I did somthing that went against my horses colour. I usually defend her cos she really is a special little horse, better than most the big horses at pony club. Anyway today a girl from my pony club came up to me when we were doing Zumba for sport (i was sick as a dog and STILL got made to do it) and said "you and Tess should come eventing with me and cookie! (her horse): and I, soooo unlike me said "with what horse? Tess?" I feel soo bad now as she just doesnt have a chance to show her true talents and I know that eventing is judged on YOU AND YOUR HORSES PERFORMANCE as a team and if you performed as well as others but... :( But now everything people are saying about pintos at pony club and that are making me wish Tess was a bay or grey or black just so she would get noticed. But thinking now, im glad Tess is flashy and different. So sorry to Tess and please don't change
Sounds sappy I know but......please see it from my pointo of view

And the thing is...we are not fancy and in it for the wins and reputation, im in it to have fun and Psstt maybe a few wins Hahah I will probably do my first show in my crapy All puropse if I don't get my new dressage saddle before then. The other one just doesnt no where near fit Tess and even with a changed gullet, wont fit me!

Reading back I cringed! Sorry I was bit harsh!

Oh I understand were your coming from... Its hard, when your not set up. Just remeber when you get that blue ribbon its extra special because you worked twice as hard to get there =) Are people saying stuff about pinto's at your club?

Do you not want to event? I know coloured horses arnt discrinated agaisnt and its way more even playing feild. That's why I do it,its a nice get away from the pressure of showing (but I still love it) but I do efa as PC is just snotty!

What saddle are you looking for?

With a flashy horse in the show ring, in order to win you can't just be good. You must be THE best. Flashy horses draw attention, which means faults are much more likely to be seen.

If I had a pinto I would show them off as much as I can.
Make sure she is super white and sparkling so the judges have to look at you :)

I compete in my all purpose :) nothing wrong with that so don't feel ashamed.
And when you get a ribbon it will be worth so much more then people who have a 'perfect' horse

"I" wouldnt be saying this too often As sometimes the multi thousand dollar "perfect" hacks arnt always that perfect and easy to ride!! I have had people pull this card on me. And most of the time its un-called for, and shows the people who are sour.

Tip for the future-Its a rough world full of sabatage, bitchyness, and alot of cheating. You have to figure out your own boundries and ride in them. Limit yourself to your own world with your way, otherwise you get taken for a ride, and will be ripped to shreds.Im not meaning to say its awful, its not at all! i love it! Just watch the people you trust, but "always" be gracious in all aspects...

Does it make sense? Sorry if it doesnt! When are you getting your saddle?

Oh sorry I didnt write back haha Tess got scared by some thunder and was freaking out so I had to go and calm her down :( hmmm. I may be getting a dressage saddle for christmas (there has been a few hints from grandma), one that I can show in, sjow saddles arent particilarly confortable for me.

And pony club is bitchy so I would hate to see what showing is like! Oh well, I will just go out and enjoy it and try my hardest.

I like the jessica trainers. They are really comfy that's the kind I want, but if I get another kind, I will be happy as long as its comfy and good looking
