Woah rearing!!

So Lola Has been in for a week now. She is lame...Well was lame. She was fine today so I let her off into the arena..She pretty much just walked around and then took off into a galloping fit, bucking striking out etc. Then she walked right up to me and reared!? I have never seen her rear before! I know she has been locked up all week but a few weeks ago she was in for more than a week and she did not rear when I let her out..

She then ran off again came back and did two huge rears!

So I am wondering will she make rearing a habit now..I really do not want her rearing it is the worst thing ever!

I also washed her hooves today and she was so scared of the hose..I know someone said to desensitize her to the hose but I forget where it is? She jumped every time I turned the water on so I am sure she is more worried about the water.

Here is a video of her rears...I decided to get out of there after that XD

Since she was free and in her paddock when she did the rearing it's possible that she was either playing or telling you to get out of her space. If she was playing, in the pasture on her own the rearing isn't that big of a deal - as long as she doesn't do it while you are handleing her or riding her. Now, if it's more of a get out of my personal space issue then it's something that needs to be dealt with. Since it was the first instance it's hard to make an assumption on her actions too quickly...

PS - I don't see the video... :(

I wouldn't worry about it, shes been cooped up and now she's "free".

Now if she starts doing it while leading...theres a problem.

Huh. That's strange 0_o Was this the first time? If it was, I wouldn't worry. I expected you to be riding in it

Did you sense if it was out of anger, fear, pain, or was she just feelig good? Hard to tell in the video from my perspective.
