Smile Yay! Finally some progress!!!!

Hey all,

As you know I have been working with my horse on lounging. We have been working on Walk`Ho Trot ho for a while now.

Before today I would get maybe one or two good "ho's" where Tiny would stay out on the circle. The rest of them I would have to ask a bucnh or we would spiral inward!

Today was so awesome. Every time I asked for him to Ho, he did so and I only asked 2 times and for every single one of them he stayed on the circle!
He was sooo good and I am very proud of him. He even had a day in between us lounging, because Wed. is my long day at college.

He is also making improvments in the way he carries himself with the side reins.

This is good news because I swear I was ready to have the trainer work with him for a few weeks.
Even if I go to work with him tomorrow and he does not do it right I still will have confidense he is finally coming around.

Soon I will plan on riding him. I just cannot wait. It has been hard to not just jump up there and go!
Thanks everyone for all the advice and support!

super exciting!!! good work

It's not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference.

Yee-Haw!! Congrats. They progress really quickly after they have that lightbulb moment. Just keep up the good work and everything will continue to progress.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

Well done! It's true, once they get it, and know what you're asking, things really start to move forward. Enjoy that awesome feeling!

Thanks everyone..
I hope that is the case! lol
It has been years since I have trained a horse and most of them I trained were very young! Tiny is 8 and has not been worked with for a few years. I was begining to wonder if the light was Ever gonna come on.

It is sooo hot here still. Supposed to be in a record breaker today. Above average temps.
Depending on how hot it is when I get out of school will depend on if we work today!
If not then we will continue on tomorrow morning when it is cool out!
Thanks again everyone!
